Meet Sid

At 23, Sid Mahant came to America with just $850, the shirt on his back, and a dream — the American Dream that anyone, from anywhere, can achieve success through hard work and determination. He worked a wide range of jobs: janitor, convenience store manager, nursing assistant, salesman, small restaurant owner, and truck driver. The journey was not easy. He faced frustration, discrimination, and setbacks — even losing his restaurant to a fire — but his determination never wavered. Inspired by his role model, President Abraham Lincoln, whom he considers our nation’s greatest leader, Sid pressed on.

In 2014, Sid moved to Avon, Indiana with his wife and their two sons. There, his American Dream became a reality. What began as a small mobile truck repair shop has grown into a successful trucking company that now employs more than 400 Hoosiers. At home, Sid cherishes time with his family — including Brembo, their beloved dog, whom he affectionately calls his youngest son.

""Look, I'm a small business owner, a son, and a father, just like many of you. I've sat in the same traffic, I've worried about the same tax bills, and I'm just as annoyed as you are. I'm not running for a title; I'm running to get things done so we can all go back to what really matters.
