Register to Vote
Deadline to register is 4/6/2026 Click here to register
What you need to register:
- Have a valid Indiana Driver's License or Indiana State Identification Card.
- Be a citizen of the United States.
- Be at least 18 years old. (A 17-year-old may register and vote in the primary election if the voter turns 18 on or before the next general or municipal election.)
- Have lived in your precinct for at least 30 DAYS before the next general, municipal, or special election.
- Not currently imprisoned after being convicted of a crime.

According to the Indiana Citizen, April 2, 2026, "The May primary will be the first election held in Indiana since the state’s proof-of-citizenship laws took effect in July 2025 and since Indiana Secretary of State Diego Morales turned over the state’s entire voter roll to the U.S. Department of Justice last fall.
Under the new proof-of-citizenship voter laws, anyone who used a temporary credential from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles to register to vote may be flagged as a noncitizen and therefore ineligible to participate in elections." Check your Voting Status here

Absentee Voting by Mail
The deadline for mail in ballots to be received is April 23
It's important to know that due to House Enrolled Act 1334, you are required to submit proof of ID with your ballot.
